Focus
The
aim of the cell is to promote and facilitate activities both among
the staff and students.
The cell provides a healthy platform for exchange of ideas and
create an exposure to higher intellectual environment.
Nature
The
fields are divided under three heads.

a.
Humanities : History, English and Tamil

b.
Social Science : Economics, Commerce and Management
|
| c.
Pure Science : Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
and Zoology |

Guidance is given by Research
cell for utilizing the facilities offered by the UGC under
the Faculty Improvement (FIP), College Science Improvement
(COSIP), College Humanities and Social Sciences Improvement.
Under these programmes, many in service trainings are conducted
by the Departments. Many major projects are launched. To mention
a few “Certificate course in Basic Mathematics”,
“Water Analysis”, ”Silkworm Rearing”
and “Photography”.
An average of 30 papers in a year at the National and State
level are presented and teachers are encouraged to write books
for which the cell facilitates to get UGC grants.

Future Plan
Cell
plans to launch more seminars and programmes to the extent of
establishing contacts with universities abroad and obtain research
fellowship facilities.
