The Regulations for the PG Degree Courses as per the norms given by the TamilNadu State Council for Higher Education, (TANSCHE),Chennai, consequent to the introduction of Choice Based Credit System with the minimum of 90 Credits for the PG Degree Courses are offered by the college with the following course structure.

- Every student has to get a minimum of 90 credits to earn a degree.
- A student may opt for one Advanced Learner's Course (ALC) per year and the credit earned thereby will be considered as additional credit.
Advanced Learner’s Course:
ALC is a specially designed self study course for the students who aspire to earn additional credits. A student can opt for one ALC per year and appear for the ESE conducted during even semesters only if she secures a grade point average of 8 and above for science courses with practicals and 7 and above for arts courses in odd semesters.
A student can earn a maximum of 8 credits in PG programme as additional credits.
Teaching and Learning methodology :
Teaching is packed with Practicals, Field visits, Study tours, Industrial training, Case studies, Seminars, Smart Class, Assignments and Guest lectures to supplement the chalk and talk method.
Project work / Diploma Course
The student has to do an individual project work or a Diploma course as per CBCS.
Following Diploma Courses are offered to the P.G Students.
- Diploma in Computer Applications.
- Diploma in Gender studies.
- An Integral Training Course in association with HCL K2 Academy.
- Diploma in Tourism Studies
Scheme Of Examination
Attendance
The eligibility to appear for Comprehensive Examinations of a semester shall depend on the attendance put by the candidates in the semester and no candidate shall be permitted to appear for the comprehensive examination of a semester unless she puts in not less than 85% of attendance in the classes of that semester(Absence of one hour ,two hours or three hours shall be treated as absent for the session). However absence due to strong medical reasons will be exempted upto 20% of the working days of the college.
CIA Theory Carries 25 Marks and ESE Carries 75 marks.
Continuous Internal Assessment Components (CIA) :
Two CIA Tests of 2hrs duration and a Model Examination of 3 hours duration will be conducted during each semester. For theory papers CIA Marks of 25 includes, CIA Tests 10, Model Exam 5, Assignment 5, Seminar 5.
End Semester Examination (ESE)
Theory: There will be two End Semester Examinations conducted in a year in November / December and April / May after the completion of 95 working days on the entire syllabus provided for the semester.
Practical Papers:
- There will be one End Semester Examination at the end of the semester for 3 hours
- CIA practicals carries 40 marks and ESE carries 60 marks. Detailed course wise components are attached at the end separately for each major.
Supplementary End Semester Examination
The outgoing students those who have arrear papers of any semester can appear for supplementary examination. The date of commencement of the Supplementary Examination will be notified along with the publication of result.
Passing Minimum:
- There is no passing minimum in CIA .
- An aggregate of 50% both in CIA and ESE is required to get a pass.
Valuation:
There will be double valuation of answer scripts. If there is a difference of 10 marks between the valuations, there is a provision for third valuation.
There will be no retotalling and revaluation.
Reappearance:
Every paper can be attempted only 4 times (including the first appearance) on the same syllabus in the subsequent semesters. If a candidate fails to get through in these 4 attempts she will have to appear for the current syllabus thereafter.
