This is a special paper introduced under Part IV.
Two papers – one on General Awareness and another on Empowerment of Women.
Students are allowed to write the papers in Tamil.
A pass in this paper is a must for completion of degree


Objectives

  1. To instill in them moral, mental and physical strength so that they could face any problem with boldness.
  2. To inculcate in them the richness of our culture and heritage.
  3. To bring an awareness about the environment and thereby safeguarding the environment.
  4. To make them know the legal rights and modes of implementing them.
  5. To help them face competitive exams empowering themselves as career women.
  6. To orient them towards learning skills and labour so as to be sure of their economic independence.
  7. To provide them a sound knowledge about home management and thereby helping them to take up their social responsibilities.

Unique Features

  1. Field Work: Kolams of all forms and dots are collected and two volumes are published.
  2. Proverbs, Folk songs and lullabies are collected and is to be compiled and published. Biography of Eminent Indians Published in the year 2003-2004.
  3. Demonstration: Two wheeler maintenance, Fuse carrier maintenance, Preparation of pickles and bakery items.
  4. Exhibition : Flower arrangement, household appliances and their maintenance, medicinal plants and their values.
  5. Value added education: Special programmes of chanting Vishnu Sahasranamam, Stotras and Manthiras.
  6. Special Programmes: Teaching of Soorya namaskar, Pranayama, Physical fitness

Future Plans

  • To maintain a herbal garden in the Campus.
  • To have a Yoga and Meditation Center
