Physical Education is a way of education by means of physical movement. Being a natural phenomenon, movement is the essence of life and the entire mechanism of human body is geared to it. Exercise is also as important as food. While food provides necessary energy for the body, exercise tones up the human organism in a better way.
Since a healthy body is necessary for a healthy mind, physical education as a discipline is more intimately concerned with human development than educational disciplines.
Objectives of Physical education
- To produce outstanding sports persons
- To bring the laurels to the institution
- To stimulate the interest among the students by conducting intramural competitions
- To maintain the fitness among the students by conducting regular games classes.
- Physical fitness ensures general proficiency in all walks of life.
Department of Physical Education is equipped with all outdoor and indoor facilities for the staff and students, to take part both in individual and group activities of different nature to encourage the student's participation to greater extent.
Physical Education is included in the Academic Curriculum as a Non Major Elective Course paper under the caption "Health, Fitness and Wellness". All the I & II UG classes has two hours free games classes every week during the evening sessions. The college has excellent infrastructure facilities for a variety of Games and Athletic activities. The students of the college have won the laurels in National, State and District Level Competitions.
