The Department of History was established in 1954 with the aim of Holistic Development of the students. The Department was upgraded as PG Department in 1980 and promoted as Research centre in 2003. The Department motivates and equips the students to appear for the Competitive Examinations- NET, SLET, and Civil Service. The committed faculty ensures knowledge transfer, instill research aptitude and infuse ethical and cultural values to transform students into disciplined citizens. The Department has got recognition to conduct UGC sponsored Foundation course on ‘Human Rights’ for Non-History Students.
