Computer Club Activities
Objectives:To enhance the knowledge of the students by giving online test practice and empowering their computer skills through the workshops and seminars.
In the year 2005-2006,
- An extra ordinary meeting was held on 26th February 2006 on the topic "Technical Session on C".
- Software contest is conducted for all major students with preliminary test and programming in Visual Basic.
In the year 2006-2007,
- Final year students presented a seminar on current topics.
- Software contest is conducted for all major students with Quiz competition.
In the year 2007-2008,
- Software contest is conducted for all major students with preliminary test(online test) & debugging in C++ & JAVA.
- Workshop conducted on “Dry Assembling" on 14th February.

Media club Highlights
Year of Establishment: 1995
Objectives:
To enable the students to participate in the various programmes conducted by the media. The club aims at the personality development of the students through diverse cultural activities.
Highlights:
- On an average of 40-50 students participated in All India Radio Programme like Quiz, Interviews, Compeering, Discussion and variety programmes.
- Teaching staff take part in the All India Radio Programmes as moderators, Quiz masters and gave talk on relevant themes.
- 30-35 of our students gave variety programme in Doordharshan for 30 minutes under the heading "Kalaichalaram".
- All the academic activities like Independence Day celebrations, NSS camp activities etc are telecasted in the local TV.
- Every year our club arranges to get "Indian express", "Business line", "The Hindu", "Economic Times" to our students at concessional rate.
Faculty Improvement Club

Extension Activities
The UGC has recognized “Extension" as the third dimension of higher education system in addition to teaching and research. Extension means to extend, to spread and to disseminate useful information and ideas to rural people outside the regularly organized educational system, then helping them to learn how to use it to build a better life for themselves, their families and their communities .So our college, having already carved a niche in the area of higher education in TamilNadu has started the extension activities from September 2000.To start with, the college has adopted the nearby village Kondavanaickenpatti at Rajavoor for 5 years for its activities.

Final year students with the guidance of teaching staff in batches are involved in these activities for 30 hours per student throughout the academic year.
Youth Red Cross
Highlights:
- Maintaining voluntary blood donor’s directory.
- Every year YRC organizes blood donation camp in the college campus.
- Creating awareness about first aid to village people in rural areas.
- YRC in association with NSS & Udumalpet municipality jointly organized two rallies on “Rain water harvesting & Water management".
- Creating awareness about blood donation.
- Collected relief materials from the students & staff members of the college and sent them to the tsunami victims at Nagerkoil.
- Conducted one day free medical checkup at Valavadi.
- Conducted first aid training programme for two days to YRC students.
- Donated ten units of blood to Indian Medical Association-Udumalpet.
- Celebrated Road Safety Week in collabration with NCC, NSS & R.T.O Udumalpet.
- Donated a sintex water tank to Mahatma Gandhi Residential school-Udumalpet.
- Conducted rally on "Abandoning plastic bags".
Consumer Awareness Club
Year of commencement: 1991To create awareness among the students of their rights as consumers and help them to exercise those rights in their day-to-day life.
Activities: 2005-2006-
An essay competition titled “Consumer rights - A student’s Expectation" was conducted.

An oratorical contest on “Duties of good consumers" was conducted on 22.01.07

A variety programme by students was arranged
- II B.A & B.Sc students gave Powerpoint presentation on Adulteration, Fake products and consumer awareness regarding the purchase of refrigerators and computers.
- III B.Sc Physics students presented Villupattu on “Consumer Awareness" and they also enacted a skit.
- An essay competition on the “Intelligent Consumer" was conducted on 05.02.08.
Students Aid cell
As our college motto says, “Not for self but for all", “Students Aid Cell" was constituted in June 2001 to take care of the welfare of the students and to extend financial help in the form of term fees, examination fees, dress etc. From the year 2007-2008, our college is offering free education to 20 students for their entire period of studies in UG/PG courses. The students are insured under “Students safety insurance" every year for Rs 50000.

Health and Hygiene club
Objectives:The motto of the club is “Health is Wealth". Hence much care is taken to develop the health and Hygiene of the students both physically and mentally by organizing health awareness programmes and conducting health checkups.
In the year 2005-2006,
- Conducted Health check ups
- Origanised health awareness programmes.
- Anti Hepatitis B vaccination, Rubella vaccination programmes were conducted.
- Conducted special meeting by Dr.V.G.Mohan prasad, Gastro enterologist on “Diet and digestive disorders".
- Anti measles, Mumps, Rubella (3in1) programme was conducted.

- Conducted anti MMR and Typhoid programme in collaboration with Shanthi Ashram under the social welfare scheme.

Highlights
- The club conducted many meaningful and successful programmes for the past eighteen years. Eminent speakers like Mr.M.S.Mohan, Assistant Director of Economic planning and Research in Nehru Institute of Technology, Dr.T.K.Chandrasekaran Director, Institute of Human Resource Management, Coimbatore were invited to deliver guest lectures.
- Placement officers of various institutions were invited to give guidelines about employment opportunities and how to be successful in a career.
- A beautiful album with all information about the employment opportunities was prepared by the P.G students.
- P.G students presented papers on various topics like Global warming, terrorism, Brain-Drain etc which are highly relevant to the present day society.
- Group discussions, essay competitions were conducted periodically to improve the quality of education.
Life Oriented Education For The Empowerment Of Women
Objectives:Special, unique and innovative course incorporated in the autonomous curriculum under part IV with an aim of empowering young women by offering socially relevant and useful programmes with the following specific objectives

Objectives:
- To rekindle the innate love and admiration for the rich Indian culture and nurture it by associating with specialized institutions imparting cultural and value education like Ramakrishna Mission Vidhyalaya, Vivekananda Kendra and Gandhian study center.
- Encouraging students to participate in various intercollegiate programmes on women empowerment and value based education.

- Large participation of students and staff in the examination conducted by vivekanandha Kendra and Gandhian study center, Chennai.
- Participation in leadership camp organized by Vivekanandha Academy of cultural studies-Kanyakumari.
Fine Arts Club
Objectives: |

- The students also exhibit their talents in the adopted villages and extension villages through fine arts club.
- The club provides the basis for all cultural programmes on different occasions in the college like teachers day, college day and founders day.

Association Of Invincible Managers (AIM)
The management cell named Association of Invincible Managers has been framed on 17th February 2003 for enlightening the talents of budding managers. It has been formally inaugurated on March 3rd 2003 by our revered Madam Principal.
Objectives:
- To explore the in-born managerial capabilities of budding managers to make them unbeatable.
- To impart practical exposure in their minds regarding the recent trends in management.
- To develop the personality and communication skills and bring up coordination.

Science Club
Science club activities are planned inculcate a science consciousness among students in terms of knowledge probing about the science related happenings in the world and a new approach in the experimental methods and also about the latest research areas and the current projects that are highly talked about Nanotechnology, Biotechnology etc.
Hightlighted Activities of the club :
- Conducting "special Lecture" program on the recent developments in science by eminent speakers and scientists.
- Conducting Experimental workshop for the students at the college level and school level in the promotion of science awareness and also popularizing science activities.
