Having been identified as an institution moving towards quality and excellence, the college has decided to introduce Choice Based Credit System from the academic year 2004-2005, at the Undergraduate, Postgraduate levels and Postgraduate Diploma Level.

  Why CBCS?
In tune with the UGC's objectives a corporate shift to this CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM is a natural sequence of our move towards quality and excellence.

UGC in its X plan guideliness has stated that the objective of introducing CBCS is

"To enhance the quality of learning and teaching process at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels."

  This System is introduced -

  • To create a student centered learning environment and to foster the spirit of     autonomy
  • To give greater academic autonomy to Departments in designing courses and     formulating teachig - learning strategies
  • To motivate students to acquire specific skills related to their area of study     and facilitate them to earn more credits
  • To enable the students to become a 'flexible' generalist and thereby an     acceptable workforce.
  •
TDC is a distinct feature of the CBCS under which a student has the cafeteria approach to a course among the courses offered by the departments other than her discipline of study.
