Major
Reforms Undertaken
|
i) During
the last 10 years taking advantage of the Academic Freedom,
the college has enriched the curriculum within the structured
framework of courses as stipulated by the parent University
by incorporating more of vocational contents, inter disciplinary
papers, modern papers with a thrust on IT and Computers.
|
|
ii) Co
and Extra curricular activities have been streamlined and
strengthened by allotting one hour extra per day (after
3.30 p.m. for the students). The is a very unique aspect
in our working time. The students have cafeteria approach
in selecting their course according to their taste (Hindi,
Sanskrit, Karate, Carnatic Music, Typewriting, Shorthand,
Tailoring, Embroidery, Doll Making, etc.,). Part time teachers
have been appointed to take care of these activities.
|
iii)
(a) The scope and coverage of Extension activities
have been widened involving all the students and teachers
through the Village Adoption Scheme. The felt and unfelt
needs of the village were identified through the conduct
of Socio-Economic Survey of the Adopted Village. Based on
them, projects to be under taken have been identified and
are implemented. This could be an ongoing programme. So
far, the college has spent nearly Rs.3 lakhs. Whenever possible
the college has collaborated with the GO’s and NGO’S
and other welfare organizations.
|
|
iii
(b). Outreach extension activities for the school
teachers and two day in service training programme for middle
school teachers for five times have been conducted.
Over a period of 25 years, we have empowered the villages
and hamlets in the neighborhood of our college through our
regular NSS activities. |
iv)
Value oriented education has been imparted in a non-formal
way through different channels from time to time.
- Curriculum.
- Conduct of Yoga, Meditation classes.
- Teaching devotional songs.
- Arranging Art of Living classes.
- Discourses on Indian epics like Kamba
Ramayana.

and personality development.
