G.V.Govindaswami,
an agriculturist and an industrialist founded G.V.G in the
year 1953 with a vision to educate the tribal, rural
folks of the hilly region in an around Udumalpet. His mission
has been successfully carried out by his family members, his
daughter and his son-in-law, who have been serving the institution
and have successfully realised the vision of the founder. |

Dr.V.Genguswami
Naidu has been closely associated with the steady progress
and administration of the College since 1965. There are nearly
50 schools functioning under his patronage in the rural and
backward areas of the Tamil Nadu State.
In the Udumalpet
Taluk, there is no school that could be left out which has
not received his patronage in various forms like Construction
of kitchen, playgrounds, classrooms, laboratory equipments,
play things and pump sets and mid-day meals schemes and more.
His
periodic visits to the College campus and interaction with
the Principal, faculty and particularly students have been
a blessing for the College. He has been continuously enriching
the comforts and conveniences in the College for the cause
of education to the women. |

Smt.Rajalakshmi Genguswami-
the illustrious daughter of the founder of the College, Late
Sri G.V.Govindaswami is the correspondent of the college and
has left no efforts behind to fulfill the vision of her father.
She has been selectively groomed by her father
to undertake the onerous responsibility of managing the College.
As an old student of Women Christian College, she has been
closely associated with the onward and upward march of the
College since 1953.
She has been closely associated with the running
of 50 schools in Tamil Nadu as a patron, founder, trustee
and correspondent. The College is blessed to have this dedicated
couple as the Managing Trustee and Correspondent. Under their
enlightened guidance and unlimited philanthropy G.V.G would
definitely scale new heights in the days to come.

The
Mission of GVG is to emerge as an Apex Education complex,
with careful planning and evolving of strategies for providing
a world class college making education a working stage for
Women who ‘blush unseen’ and waste their potentials
on the rural air for lack of opportunity to display their
talents and boast of their achievements.
This institution born with the Vision of our
Founder and architect Sri.G.V.Govindaswamy Naidu, nurtured
by the hard and untiring work of his beloved off springs Srimathi
Rajalakshmi and her husband, the Managing Trustee Dr.V.Genguswamy
Naidu, have set and attainable an ambitious goal before it,
such as fostering research and development, empowering Women
for a substantial and subsistent growth and molding the young
Women to follow and lead.
The College functions on the realization that
still “there are miles to go before sleep”
and therefore has placed before the students a package of
curriculum that consists of Classroom activity, Seminars,
Workshops, Guest Lectures, Visiting Professors, Spoken English,
Extension activities, Social work, NSS, NCC, Physical education,
Leisure time activities and Exhibitions.
We are sure that this package of education for students who
have enrolled to graduate in B.A / B.Sc / B.Com / B.B.M /
B.Com(CA) / M.A / M.Sc / M.Com will play a heavy role in giving
them an all round growth with an imposing personality.
